In the unlikely event you come to possess the remains of a sasquatch…

  1. Take pictures.  TAKE SO MANY PICTURES.  Full body shots, portraits, details of the hands, feet, genitals, the wound which dispatched the bigfoot (if it did not die of natural causes).  Send these pictures to everyone.  Put them all over the Internet.  When people tell you they’re fake, POST MORE PICTURES.  Don’t hold this kind of thing back - the world wants to know, and the more forthright you are, the more likely we are to believe you.
  2. Take multiple tissue/hair/blood samples.  Send them out to any/every accredited research institution who’ll accept them.  Universities, zoos, hospitals.  If you’re paranoid the men in black are going to swoop in and steal the body, the more widely you distribute data, the harder it becomes for anyone to make it simply go away.
  3. Don’t worry about money.  If you’re in it for the money, you’re in it for the wrong reasons.  And, if you’ve done a lot of hard work to get your sasquatch, and are starting to think some monetary reward might be nice…don’t worry about it.  The money will come later, not for the body itself, but for your experience - TV appearances, speaking engagements, book deals.  But none of that will come if you try to make money off the body itself.  So just stay focused on providing the evidence.
  4. Seriously, don’t be cagey, or secretive, or deceitful.  Be honest and open and share information!  So many people have dedicated their lives to this search, so many people have been haunted by the question, “Is it real?” it’s not fair to them to withhold this sort of revelation.  Think of how you would feel, if you were in their position.  You’d want to know the truth, too.
  5. If you can’t take the whole body (for obvious reasons), take the head.  I know, gross.  But just think…everything we know about Gigantopithecus comes from a few molars and part of a jaw.  Imagine if we had the skull, and the brain!  This can be used to establish the existence of a previously unknown species, whereas a hand or foot are much easier to dismiss.
  6. Wear gloves.

Fascinating video and analysis, and the circumstances in which the film was allegedly taken are similar to many, many reported encounters.  If I had had an iPhone (or a Galaxy Note) during my own experience, who knows…maybe I would have actually captured some evidence?

EDIT:  Okay, so word now is that this video is a hoax.  I really, really would have preferred if it were viral marketing for Eduardo Sanchez’s new bigfoot film, EXISTS.  I mean, the viral marketing for BLAIR WITCH was pretty damn brilliant…makes sense that he would do something similar for EXISTS, yeah?  Ah well.

A message to hoaxers:  You’re not cute, or funny.  You suck, and sometimes, you get hit by cars.

Is it a squatch?

Cryptomundo recently reported on a possible bigfoot photo captured as part of Field & Stream’s fall trail cam contest.  I’ve posted the original below, along with my visual analysis.

With some closer analysis, adjusting of contrast and exposure, what appears to be a face in the original is revealed to be as part of the background.  So, what we have here, is a motion-blurred bear, turning away from the camera, with its ears back.  Ta-da.

I’ve watched this a couple times, now, and while it’s difficult to make out and there’s no way of ever really knowing what it captures, it’s worth noting the apparent bulk of the subject’s torso.  It has that barrel-shape we’ve come to expect from sightings on clearer footage like the Patterson-Gimlin film.  (Which, as seen in gorillas, could have something to do with the animal’s difficult to digest diet.)

Out of the way. I got this.

Other than being a hilarious photo, this is a great reference.
Guys…THIS is what a bear looks like standing up.

                                                  My bigfoot encounter

It was around november in the 90s when my best friend and I decided to go up bow hunting for elk. We loaded our trucks with our gear and set out at night. When we got to White Pass the snow was falling really fast. We both had 4x4s and we had to chain up. It took us forever to get over the pass because of how much snow there was. When we finally found our turn off it was around 1:00am. We headed up the 1500 road in the Nile GMU for about a half hour until one of us got stuck. We decided to set up camp for the night. There was about four feet of snow on the ground and the moon was full and really bright. I could see a great distance and could almost count the pine needles on the tree. My friend made a fire and I went to my truck to put on my carharts to warm up. I walked to the passenger side of the truck when all of a sudden I see a man walking up the side of the road. It was about 2:00am in the morning and there were no cars for miles on the way up. As he came closer I was astonished because it looked like it was about nine feet tall plus. It was walking through four feet of snow like it was nothing. It was black and you could tell that it had hair. I called my friends name and said look… look… we both just watched it walk by in shock. We were both kind of afraid to chase it so we waited till it was gone. We checked the prints out but it was snowing so hard that we couldn’t get any pictures of them. Before that night I was a skeptic. After seeing what I saw I have to say that there is an unidentified North American Primate living in the Pacific North West. After that night I went home and contacted the bigfoot field researchers organization and got a hold of one of the founders. He told me that he lived close by the spot where I saw the sasquatch. He said that not many people know that they are up there but the native Americans are still afraid to go on to bethel ridge to this day because of it. He said that the sasquatchs stay up high and migrate down with the elk when it snows but only go down as far as they have too. He also said that he believed that they communicate with something called infrasound. It’s how dolphins and elephants communicate. If you haven’t heard of the skookum cast you need to google it and or watch the youtube videos on it. It is some nice evidence. I leave you with this. There is an unidentified North American Primate living in the Pacific Northwest. I seen it with my own two eyes.
